Privacy policy
How Child Phenoms collects, uses and protects your information and your child's.
1. Who we are
Child Phenoms ("we", "us") runs childphenoms.com, the free abacus kit offer, the Phenom University membership, the online trainer and the Certified Phenom Instructor program. Child Phenoms is operated by Enamelogic LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company doing business as Child Phenoms, Enamelogic LLC, 1309 Coffeen Avenue STE 1200, Sheridan, WY 82801.
Questions about this policy: hello@childphenoms.com. Write "Privacy" in the subject line and we will answer within 10 business days.
2. The short version
- We collect what we need to ship your kit, run your membership and save your child's progress.
- A parent creates every child profile. We ask for a first name (or nickname) and an age. We never ask a child for contact details.
- We do not sell your information. We do not sell or share your child's information, and we never use it for advertising.
- We use a Meta (Facebook) pixel on our order pages to measure our ads. It is not used in the trainer your child uses.
- You can see, fix, download or delete your data at any time. Email us or use the Family page in the trainer.
3. What we collect
3.1 When you order
On the order form we ask for your first and last name, email, phone number and shipping address. When you pay, you also give your card details to Stripe, our payment processor. We see what you bought, your contact details and addresses, and the card brand and last four digits. We never see or store your full card number.
We also record which offers you chose: the kit, the Child Prodigy Secrets Playbook + Audiobook, the Phenom University trial and the instructor certification. With your order we also keep which ad or link brought you to our page (the tags in the link, and Meta's click ids unless your browser sends Global Privacy Control), so we know which ads work.
We receive what you type on step 1 of the order form even if you do not finish the order, so we can remind you about your kit.
3.2 Saved in your own browser
The order form saves what you type in your browser (local storage) so the form can fill itself in if you come back. The trainer also saves each child's progress in your browser first. This data stays on your device. You can clear it by clearing your browser's site data.
3.3 Your parent account in the trainer
You sign in with a link sent to your email. There is no password. For your account we keep your email address and the date you joined.
For each child you add, we keep:
- the first name or nickname you type in
- the age you choose
- practice progress: lessons passed, boss tests, Bead Score tests, best times, streaks, points and the practice log
That is all. We do not ask for a child's last name, photo, school, email, phone or location.
3.4 What you send us
If you reply to our emails, we keep the message. Some parents reply with their child's name and age so we can send a first-week plan. Some parents send a photo or video of a practice session. We use these only to reply to you. See section 5.4.
3.5 Collected automatically
- Order pages. The Meta pixel records page views and order steps (page view, order form started, add-on ticked, checkout started, purchase, trial started) and sets a Meta cookie. After you type your details on the order form, the pixel also sends Meta your email, name and phone number in hashed (scrambled) form, so Meta can measure our ads. Our server also sends Meta the same order events directly (Meta's Conversions API), with the same scrambled details plus your IP address and browser type, so Meta can match them to its ads. Meta may link these events to a Facebook or Instagram account.
- Product analytics. On our order pages we use PostHog (US cloud) to see how people use them and where they get stuck. It records page views, clicks and order steps, and makes session recordings (a replay of the page as you used it). It is not used in the parent app or the trainer. Form fields are masked in recordings, so what you type is not shown. PostHog uses your IP address to estimate a rough location. After you give us your email on the order form, PostHog links your visits to it. PostHog does not load when your browser sends Global Privacy Control.
- Every page. Our web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, page requested, time). Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address.
- Videos. The video thumbnails on our order page load from YouTube when the page opens, so YouTube receives your IP address. The player itself loads from YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode only when you press play.
- The trainer and the parent app. No advertising cookies, no Meta pixel, no PostHog and no session recordings.
3.6 Instructors
If you buy the instructor certification we also keep your exam results, your certificate, and the details you choose to publish in the instructor directory (for example name, city, contact method and whether you teach online).
4. How we use it
- To ship your kit and send tracking.
- To run your membership: start the free trial, take payment, send receipts and reminders, and handle cancellations, pauses and refunds.
- To sign you in and keep your child's progress in sync across your devices.
- To answer your emails and send the plans and feedback you ask for.
- To send emails and texts about the program, if you agreed to them. You can stop them at any time (section 7).
- To measure which ads lead to orders (order pages only).
- To see where our pages and the parent app confuse people or break, so we can fix them.
- To prevent fraud, keep records the law requires, and enforce our terms.
We do not use your child's data to build an advertising profile, and we do not make automated decisions about you that have legal or similar effects.
5. Children's privacy
5.1 Who the program is for
Child Phenoms is sold to parents and guardians. Children use the trainer inside a parent's account, with the parent present or nearby. A child cannot buy anything or open an account.
5.2 How a child's profile is made
The parent creates each profile and types in a first name or nickname and an age. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13. The trainer has no chat, no messaging, no public profiles and no way for a child to contact anyone.
5.3 What we never do with children's data
- We never sell or share it.
- We never use it for advertising or marketing.
- We never show it to other families. Age-ranked charts compare your child to estimated grade-level expectations, not to other users.
5.4 Photos and videos you send
If you email us a photo or video of your child practicing, we use it only to give you feedback. We do not post it, share it or use it in ads unless you sign a separate written permission. We delete it within 90 days of replying.
5.5 Your rights as a parent
You can review, change or delete your child's information at any time:
- Change a name or age on the Family page.
- Delete a child by removing them on the Family page. This removes the profile and its progress from our servers too.
- Ask us to send you a copy of everything we hold, or to delete your whole account, by emailing hello@childphenoms.com. We confirm by email when it is done.
If we learn that we collected information from a child under 13 without a parent's involvement, we delete it.
6. Who we share it with
We share information only with companies that help us run Child Phenoms, and only what each one needs. They may use it only to provide their service to us.
| Service | What it does for us | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | takes payments and runs subscriptions, with receipts and a billing portal | your contact details and addresses, plus payment details |
| Supabase | parent accounts and the progress database (servers in the US) | your email, each child's first name, age and progress |
| Resend | sends our emails: the welcome and quick-start emails, and the sign-in links Supabase makes | your name and email |
| Shopify, DSers and AliExpress | our order system (Shopify), the app that passes each kit order to the supplier (DSers), and the supplier that packs and ships the abacus with a tracked carrier (AliExpress) | your name, shipping address and phone number |
| Meta | ad measurement for our order pages only (the pixel and the Conversions API) | page and order events, Meta's cookie ID and device details, your IP address and browser type, and your email, name and phone number in hashed form |
| PostHog (US cloud) | product analytics on our order pages and in the parent app, and session recordings on our order pages only | page views, clicks and order steps, session recordings of order pages with form fields masked, browser and device details, your IP address (for a rough location), and your email once you give it to us |
| GitHub Pages | hosting the website | server logs |
| Google Fonts and YouTube | fonts, video thumbnails and video playback | your IP address and browser data |
We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, to stop fraud, or if Child Phenoms is sold or merged (the buyer would be bound by this policy).
7. Emails and texts
We do not send text messages, and the order form does not ask for text consent. If we add texts later we will ask you first, and you will be able to reply STOP at any time. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Receipts and messages about your order or account still come while you are a customer.
8. Sale of data and targeted ads
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we have not done so in the past 12 months.
Some state laws, including California's, call it "sharing" or "targeted advertising" when a website sends browsing events to an ad platform like Meta. Our order pages do this through the Meta pixel, and our server does it through Meta's Conversions API. You can opt out:
- Email hello@childphenoms.com with the subject "Do not share", or
- Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. When your browser sends that signal, our order pages do not load the pixel or PostHog, and our server does not send Meta your order events.
We do not do this in the trainer, and we never do it with children's data.
9. How long we keep it
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Order and payment records | 7 years, for tax and accounting |
| Parent account and child profiles | while your account is open; deleted within 30 days after you ask, or after 24 months with no sign-in |
| Photos and videos you send | deleted within 90 days of our reply |
| Support emails | 2 years |
| Proof of your consent to texts and emails | 5 years after you opt out |
| Order-form details if you start an order but do not finish it | 90 days after your last visit; your IP address and browser type, 7 days |
| Order-form data in your browser | until you clear it |
10. Security
Payments are handled by Stripe; card numbers never touch our servers. Sign-in uses one-time email links, so there is no password to steal. Our database lets each parent read only their own rows. All pages load over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
11. Your privacy rights
Every parent in the US can ask us to:
- Know and access what we hold about you and your child.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your information or your child's.
- Get a copy in a common file format.
- Opt out of targeted advertising and of any sale (we do not sell).
Email hello@childphenoms.com. We check that the request comes from the account's email address before we act. You may use an authorized agent; we will ask for your signed permission. We answer within 45 days and will tell you if we need up to 45 more. We will not charge you or treat you differently for using these rights.
Some of these rights come from state laws that may not apply to a business our size. We give them to every US parent anyway.
11.1 California residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, in the past 12 months we collected these categories: identifiers (name, email, phone, address, IP address); commercial information (what you bought); internet activity (order page events, and how you use our pages and the parent app); and, for parents who add a child, the child's first name, age and progress. Sources and purposes are in sections 3 and 4. Recipients are in section 6. We do not sell personal information, and we do not sell or share the information of anyone we know is under 16. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer anything about you. You also have the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information; we do not use it for any purpose that right covers.
11.2 Colorado residents
Under the Colorado Privacy Act you have the rights in section 11, including the right to opt out of targeted advertising. We do not process a known minor's data for targeted advertising, sale or profiling.
Appeals. If we turn down your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with the subject "Appeal". We will decide within 45 days and explain why. If you disagree with the result, you can contact the Colorado Attorney General at coag.gov.
11.3 Other states
Residents of other states with privacy laws (for example Virginia, Connecticut, Texas and Oregon) can use the same email address and the same appeal process.
12. US only
Child Phenoms ships to US addresses and is meant for families in the United States. Our account, payment and email services store data in the United States. The supplier that ships your abacus receives your name, shipping address and phone number where it packs the order.
13. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above. If a change affects how we use children's information, we will email parents before it takes effect.
